Capture the Log Information about Ticketing / Checklist App in Teams Desktop

Hi All,


In case you encounter an issue when using our apps, you can follow these steps to send us additional log information to help our developers fix the issue.


Log generates a lot of information, so it is important to empty the console log right before executing the action that trigger the issue.


In this blog, we’ll walk through how to capture the log when using the Teams Desktop app. Read this blog on how to capture log in browser.


  1. Open Microsoft Teams Desktop App.


  2. Click the three dots on top right and select settings

  3. Click About Teams on bottom left

  4. In the Early Access section, enable Public Preview.

    If you don't see the Early Access section follow these steps:

    1. Open Teams Admin Center: https://admin.teams.microsoft.com/policies/app-permission

    2. Go to Setup Policies and click Global.

    3. Enable Upload custom apps and save.

    4. Restart Teams Desktop app for the changes to take effect


  5. Return to Teams Desktop and Open the app you want to capture (Ticketing/Checklist)

  6. Right click on the Teams Icon on your desktop and select Open Dev Tools.

  7. Click Inspect on the App URL

  8. Right before executing the actions that you want to record / that trigger the issue, In the Developer Console panel, right click in the console and "Clear console" content

  9. Reproduce the issue you want to troubleshoot


  10. Right click in the console and click save as

  11. Additionally right click on the bottom object and select copy object.

  12. Open notepad and paste the copied object and save the file.
