CRM as a Service is a Microsoft Teams CRM that brings lead management into the platform where your team's conversations and decisions already happen. Instead of juggling a separate CRM tool, you can create, track, and archive leads without leaving Microsoft Teams. This article walks through the full workflow, from adding your first lead to archiving inactive ones.
What Is a Lead?
A lead is a prospective customer who has shown interest in your product or service. In CRM as a Service, leads sit at the start of the sales pipeline, before they're qualified and converted into opportunities. For a full breakdown of how leads, opportunities, contacts, and organizations relate to each other, there's a separate article on CRM terminology.
For a broader look at the full process, the lead management guide covers the lifecycle from capture to conversion.
Creating Your First Lead
In the CRM as a Service app, go to the Lead section and click '+ Lead' to add a new entry. You'll be prompted to fill in two fields:
Lead Title: A short description of the lead, for example, "Contoso Company is looking for a new CRM App."
Company Name: The name of the company, for example, "Contoso."

After entering the details, click Save. The lead will appear in your lead list immediately.

Uploading Leads in Bulk
If you have existing lead data in Excel or CSV format, you can import it directly instead of adding leads one by one. The lead import guide walks through the full upload process.
Archiving Your Lead
To archive a lead, open the lead record and select the archive option. Archived leads are removed from your active list but remain stored for future reference, so no data is lost.
Archiving is useful when a lead goes cold or needs to be put on hold without being permanently removed from the system. To retrieve or restore an archived lead, the archive view guide covers how to access and unarchive leads.

CRM as a Service is designed for ease, ensuring that even complex sales workflows are simplified. Stay organized and keep your leads on track with just a few clicks.
