How to Create Tickets Directly from Microsoft Teams Message

Updated: Dec 5, 2025

In every organization, important issues often surface where work naturally happens—inside Microsoft Teams chats. A colleague flags a bug, a manager reports an HR request, or someone shares a screenshot highlighting a problem. But turning that message into a proper support ticket? That usually means copying text, saving attachments, switching apps, and hoping nothing gets lost along the way.

With Ticketing As A Service, you can skip all that. Our Create Ticket from Chat feature lets you convert any Teams message—whether from a 1:1 chat or a channel—into a new support ticket in seconds. No manual copy-paste, no forgotten details, and no workflow interruptions. Just click, create, and continue your day.

Creating your First Ticket from a Message

Creating a ticket from a Teams message is surprisingly simple. Here’s how it works:

  1. In Teams, go to any chat or channel message. Maybe it’s a bug report, a screenshot, or a quick request—anything you want to turn into a ticket.

  2. Click the three dots (…) next to the message. That’s where Teams hides all the extra actions.

  3. Select “Create ticket” with the Ticketing As A Service icon from the list or More Actions. You’ll instantly be redirected to the Ticketing As A Service personal app.

  4. Choose your ticketing instance.

  5. A ticket draft is automatically created where:

-The original message becomes the ticket description

-The message author is automatically added as the requestor

-Any embedded images are carried over

-Nothing is lost—no details, no context, no screenshots

  6. Review, complete, and submit the ticket.

Add priority, category, or any other field your process requires.

Et voilà! Your ticket is ready, and you’ve saved a few minutes—every single time. Multiply that across your team, and it becomes a significant productivity boost.
